Retired Sets and DSP Share

Well i survived my annual craft garage sale!! It was awesome! Thanks to all of you who came out and made it a fantastic day! While the kids sold lemonade, ice tea and cookies i sold more then half of my retired stamp collection. I finally gave up some oldies... just couldn't hang on to them any longer!!--was running out of space to store them! I've put a tab (Retired Stamp Sets For Sale!) at the top, underneath the blog header of what i have left if you are interested. --yes i know.. lots.. and i sold more then half so YES i'm a little obsessed with stamps.. : )
(please note i can only mail within canada and there will be an extra charge for mailing. please email if interested)

I also sold a TON.. and i mean a TON of Designer Series Paper (DSP).. but have tons left over!! After looking at my stacks of left over DSP i decided i really need to cut down on my paper addiction! Wow.. giving up stamps and now DSP! What am i thinking?? I HAVE TO GET NEW DSP FROM THE NEW CATTY! i can't give up DSP!! - yes i'm yelling and doing cartwheels...(tehe). SO in order for me to have the NEW DSP and a variety of it i thought i'd host a 6x6 DSP share for Canadians (sorry i can't mail product to the US!!)

Are you like me and feel the need to have every new DSP in the catty? (and holiday mini too??.....woohoo). My problem is that every time I see a card that i love i MUST CASE it..... but i can't if i don't have the same DSP. I also find i cut a piece of 12x12 DSP and have more then enough scraps left over so i'd love to be able to have less of one sheet but a wide variety of designs!! Are you following me..? ; )

For $43* you will receive a 6x6 piece of each of the DSPs listed on pages 183-186** of the current catty. As well as all 4 new DSP from the up coming Holiday Mini.. how cool is that!!? -Pick Your Poison, Spice Cake, Holly Berry Bouquet and Frostwood Lodge!! --i've had a sneak peek and LOOOOOOOOOOVE them!

*Price includes tax/ship. Additional mailing charges may apply. If you choose to pick up from me there will be no additional mailing charges.
**This does not include the Prints Patterns Stacks on pg 186

If you are interested in getting a fabulous sampling of all 20 of the DSPs from the New Catty and Holiday Mini, this is the way to go! Please email me if you are interested. I only have 6 spots left so don't delay!! DSP shares will be available the first week of September (When the Holiday Mini goes live!)

On to today's project! The Playdate DSP was one of my favorites from last years catty. So colourful and bright!

I was inspired by this card on Mary Fish's blog. I didn't have the Paisley Petals DSP that she used so i used playdate which is now retird. When i get my DSP share i can CASE CASE CASE, case her card the pretty way.... : )

Hope you like.. : )

CASE of the Butterflies..and Ribbon Share!

As some of you know I'm not a big fan of Melon Mambo but when i was flipping through one of my craft magazines and saw this exact same card, having 4 butterflies in each square with the exact same colour scheme i just had to try it out. Don't you just love these colours together? HOT..HOT...HOT.. ; )

The only thing i switched up was the stitching part. The original card i saw had a bit of sewing in between the butterflies but i haven't totally plunged into the sewing world of paper crafting so i decided to do a bit of faux stitching to give the card the same look. AND since I'm not much of a melon mambo fan i was super excited to pull out my supply of Melon Mambo ribbon and textured card stock--woohoo!

Quick Tip: To adhere ribbon place a piece of sticky strip across your card front. Apply ribbon by pleading 4 loops to the left and leaving the rest flat. Leaving the first 2 loops to the left, with your finger push the other two loops to the right. Place brad in the middle. I've had this card for several months and the ribbon has not moved! (YES i was shocked...LOL-- great ribbon technique with strong sticky tape!)

This card fits into Stampin' Up!'s 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" Medium Square Envelope (107289)
Products used for this project:
Stamp Sets: Flight of the Butterflies (111564)
Card Stock: Whisper White (100730), Peach Parfait (119794), Basic Gray Textured (119923), Melon Mambo Textured (119930)
Ink: Crumb Cake (121030), Peach Parfait (119783), Melon Mambo (115656), Basic Gray (109120), Basic Black (101179)
Accessories and More: Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon (Retired)--can use Melon Mambo Scallop Dots Ribbon (122985), White Gel Pen (105021), Paper-Piercing Tool (116631), Mat Pack (105826), 5/16" Jumbo Brads (112534), Paper Snips (103579), Snail Adhesive (104332), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Sticky Strip (104294)

Hope you like... : )

*******************************************************************
Some of you may have noticed the polka dot ribbon is back with a twist. Same look and feel but slightly different --scallops on the top and bottom. Check them out on page 195 of the New Catty. I pre-ordered the Chocolate Chip and i LOVE ...LOVE this ribbon!! Stampin' Up has featured some fabulous colours! The Melon Mambo would look awesome on the above card!!

Who's interested in a Scallop Dots Ribbon Share? $27 (this price already includes the ship/tax) will get you 20 yards of ribbon. You will receive 2 yards each of all 10 beautiful colours of Scallop Dots Ribbon! Ribbon sharing is a great way to receive an assortment of colours without having to purchase every single roll!! Please email me if you are interested...! (Please note there will be extra cost for postage if you require your ribbon to be mailed to you)

Owl Step Card {Tutorial}

Thank you all for your kind words regarding my step owl card. If you haven’t seen this super stinkin’ cute card yet click here to view it.

I had an over whelming response for the dimensions so I thought I’d whip up a quick tutorial for you all!! Also to answer many question about size, it is a standard size card and fits into any of Stampin’ Up!’s Medium Size Envelopes- page 182 of the New 2011/2012 Idea Book and Catalogue. Have you seen the New Catty yet…? I’m sure you are just DYING to get your little hands on it!! If you can’t wait to get your hands on a hard copy click here to view the web version. (I know, I know.. just not the same..but it will get you by until you receive your copy)… I just received another box of 8 catties so please contact me if you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and I’d be happy to get one to you.

For those interested in placing an order during the summer please send me an e-mail (alittlebitofink@gmail.com). I'll be ordering on the 15th of July (this friday) and August 1st. You also can order through me 24/7 on line, click here and click the shop now button at the top right corner. NOTE: if you are ordering online, please check that you see my name listed at the top of the website as the demonstrator for your order. Sometimes it will default to a demonstrator you have used previously. You may need to clear your cookies before a new demonstrator's name will appear.

With all your emails and questions about my step card, I eagerly await to see what you all come up with. Once you have created your step card please leave a comment on this post and link to your card. I’d LOVE to see how it turned out..! : )

Step 1 - Line up the short side of card stock in paper trimmer so the edge of the card is at 1-1/4" mark. Position the cutting blade at 1" cut all the way to 5".

Step 2 - flip card stock over and do the same using the same measurements above.

Step 3 - Rotate card stock to the longer side and from the edge to the cut line score at 1", 2" and 5".

Step 4 - Flip over card stock and repeat Step 3, same instruction above.

Step 5 - Score between the cut lines at 4".

Step 6 - Fold the score lines. The first, third and center score lines are mountain folds. The second score line is a valley fold. Reinforce score lines with bone folder to make the folds crisp.

Step 7 - Voila..stamp and decoreate as desired! -- This card fits nicely into Stampin' Up!'s Medium size envelopes.

Again, I'd love to see your version of a step card so please don't forget to leave a comment with a link to your card.. : )
