Key to my [Fashionable] Heart take two...

Hello..

What did you think of my last post? Cute card...but not much detail..huh! =)
I'm back today with all the deets......

During the month of February i cut out lots and lots of hearts from the Fashionable Hearts sizzlet (love this little sizzlet!)...Since i had such a variety of sizes and colors i thought i'd play around a bit. I thought it would be a nice touch to add some hearts to this particular DSP! They fit niceyly into the decorative printed circles. Take a look again at the first card i posted. And now take a look at this card:

Do you see a difference between the two cards? Not much difference...the layout is the same but i switched up the size of the hearts on the DSP!

Using a variety of colours i chose to use the smallest heart on the sizzlet for this first card. I used the embossed houndstooth heart and added a short greeting banner. The key is also facing up. AND yes i cut out the DSP to shape the zig zag!...i hear gasps...! Trust me, it didn't take long at all and cutting is part of paper crafting.....right..? ; )

This card has bigger hearts on the DSP. I used the second smallest hearts from the sizzlet and attached them to the DSP. I also cut out a cherry cobbler heart using the full heart punch and backed it onto a crumb cake heart from the framelits die.

I fancied up the arrow greeting banner with a bit of bling. This banner was cut out using the full heart punch. Here's how i did it:

First stamp the greeting on a piece of scrap whisper white card stock. My piece of card stock is 1/2" wide x 3" long. Slide the left end into the full heart punch as shown. This will create a "fork".

Then slide the right end of the greeting card stock into opposite end of the full heart punch as shown here. This creates the point of your "arrow".

Just before you attach your greeting banner to the cherry cobbler heart add some bling! I've raised up the crumb cake heart with stampin' dimensionals.

Hope you like... : )

Key to my Heart

I'm in love with the new Hearts Collection Framelits Dies that Stampin' Up! has just came out with! They are so much fun!! --you'll notice the fun I've been having once you see my next few posts.. ; )

Once i cut out the heart with the big shot i then sprayed a bit of stampin' mist directly onto the heart and crumpled it up into a ball. (my stmapin mist is half water and half mist). Lay flat to dry.

With white craft ink i stamped my greeting right on the black satin ribbon!! so cool... ; )

Once the heart was dry I attached one side of the ribbon to the back of the heart with a stampin' glue dot. I then slipped the trinket key on from the other side of the ribbon and attached it down at the back of the heart with another glue dot. I added stampin dimensionals to the back of the heart before i attached it to the card front.

For the Background i stamp the medallion image from Artistic Etchings in basic gray (stamping off once to lighten the gray) and then i inked up the en francais background stamp in basic black and stamped over the randomly stamped medallions.

I love the way this card turned out so i thought I'd make a few more for the flower shop where i sell my handmade cards. I was short on trinket keys so i changed it up a bit. This is a perfect card for Valentine's Day, Anniversary, Birthday.... you name it ..It's PERFECT for any loved one! : )

As you can see the only thing i changed up was the key! I stamped the key from the Artistic Etchings set and punched it out with the large oval punch. I also added a small heart and small rhinestone gem!

Hope you like.. : )

Pinwheel Club Card

For club this month we created a cute "in colour" pinwheel card. Here are 2 versions of it.

This first one uses the bracket edge die from the new Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. Gives the card a nice hilly grassy look, doesn't it?

Don't you just love the clouds! I used the cupcake punch--super fun! The circle punch was used for the sun and the postage stamp punch was used for the pinwheels. For the background I used the striped embossing folder on whisper white card stock, you may be able to see the texture better in the last photo below.

The second card uses the rotary cutter from the Cutter Kit to make the hilly grass. It was super quick and easy....give it a try!! --

Place a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock on a cutting mat and randomly cut out a hill shape with the rotary cutter and then slightly snip the top edge from one end to the other with you paper snips...crumple lightly and voila you have some hilly grass!! Add a bit of Lucky Limeade Ribbon and twine at the bottom to finish off your card.

Getting back into the swing of things..

ok....so i'm still cracking up over the last post!

oh Leigha you're sooooooooo cute..bawaaaaaaaaaaah! You really do know how to cheer up a gal!-- i can just see you running around the house with your glitter heels and your big smile!! -- calmly doing all your Mrs. Clever duties!! -- you ROCK girl!

Yes i may of had a "losing it moment" and only Leigha could really understand why i was "losing it" but it didn't last long and i got over it real fast! --no outer body experience was had so i resumed to my daily routine pretty quickly!! tehee.. : )

I'm enjoying the summer activities so much i've hardly stamped this summer!! --hey there is nothing wrong with playing "potato" (cute way alyssa says playdough) outside with the little ones while the sun is shinning and the other kids are playing in the pool!!

Until last weekend i hadn't even touched a stamp since the end of June!! --I KNOW HORRIBLE!!-- was having serious "mommy me time" withdrawals ---but seriously how could i resist my cutie patootie when she looks at me with her totally cool "morning time" glasses on and says let's go play mom...

--for those of you who know my daughter you know it's hard to resist her cuteness and OF COURSE i'll hang out with her any chance i get!! : )

Leigha brought over some GREAT projects for us to create last Saturday!! Thank you Leigha for getting me back into "STAMP" mode!! All of us girls had such a great time stamping, chatting and mostly laughing-- ohhhh we laughed soooooo much and so hard!! I've been having super fun with the kids the last few weeks but come on.......hanging out with the girls and stamping was a notch above for sure!!

-- Leigha...what do you think of my berries? be honest.....don't hold back....!!
(hopefully she will post her card as it's so much prettier then mine....me can't watercolour...boohoo...my berries exploded and my bird well there are no words that can discribe that poor little bird!!....i guess i'll have to keep practicing..)

ooooooooooooohhhh always fun times ..we never hold anything back when we get together.. bwaaaaaaaaaaha : )

So after a fun weekend with the girls i was super motivated to get things rolling for the fall. I have new clubs starting in September and with the new catty in full swing i'm having a blast creating fresh new projects with all the new colours, new ribbons, new accessories, new stamps, well all the products Stampin Up has to offer!! Louise and i got together Friday and Saturday this past week so i had double the crafting time!! woohooooooo!! We created a bunch of fresh new projects and now i have to decide what projects i'm going to use for my stamp club get togethers starting in September. So until i can decide what cards are going to be for club and what cards i can show you now, you'll just have to wait a little bit longer to see what i've been up to!! aaawwww so mean i know!! ... but don't worry i won't let you down-- i have plenty of oldie but goodies to show you in the mean time. I've been going through all my photos and wow there are so many cards i just haven't had the chance to show you yet. Some of my favorites will be revealed this month!! Here is just one of the many favorites of 2010/2011:

I created this card awhile back and i'm pretty certain i cased it from Seeing Ink Spots blog. (thank you for the inspiration)!!

Mother's Day is just around the corner.  Wouldn't you love to make this sweet little photo heart for a Mother's Day gift for someone special?  Yup, those are my super sweet kids you see along the sides of that heart.  PERFECT gift for Grandma!! Or to keep for yourself :)

You will need My Digital Studio (MDS) or some other photo editing software that you are familiar with to complete this project.  This tutorial gives you step by step instructions how to make the heart with a photo strip, designer paper, and accessories.  Although I do give basic instructions on how to create the photo strip, you must be familiar with and have photo editing software to create the photo strip.  I've used MDS, but you can use other photo editing software that you are familiar with too.

Products used for this project:  I've used You're a Gem stampset (122268) and Trinket Keys (121892) from the Occasions Mini Cataloglue to create mine.  You will also need some Designers Series Paper (DSP) and a photo frame.  I've used First Edition (121878)  and Botanical Gazette DSP (121783)  (both from the Occasions Mini).  I finished my heart off with some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon(120992), but you can change things up, and make it your own!

The complete  tutorial on how to make this project is available for purchase for only  $2.50.   Please find the link to purchase on the top right sidebar.  The tutorial will be e-mailed to the email address registered to your paypal account within 24 hours as an Adobe PDF file following your purchase.  If you do not receive your email, please check your spam box.  If you still have not received your file within 24 hours, please contact me so I can correct any issues.

Alternatively, purchase the You're a Gem stamp set (C122270 $14.95 or, W122268 $17.95), and the Trinket Keys (121892 $7.95 for 4) from me, and I will email you the PDF Tutorial free of charge!
