Happy Birthday to me MDS style..

I haven't used My Digital Studio (MDS) as much as i would like to and when Stampin Up! (SU) sent me this card a couple weeks ago it really made me think how easy it would of been to do my Christmas cards this year if i would of created them using MDS! And then i was really kicking myself when i saw Leigha's cute MDS Christmas Wish to everyone!! Her card is super creative.. just the right amount of perfect! Now I've really made it a goal for the new year!!

The program offers so much and is really not that hard to use. I'll start slow by learning how to navigate through MDS once i get a new computer! --i have such an old computer, yes I'm living in the dinosaur ages over here! and i can't load the program without my computer having a melt down and crashing!! {very sad face}! I'm asking Santa for a Laptop so if i get one for Christmas i will certainly be playing with this program in the New Year..---I've been really really good this year so let's hope Santa brings me one.. {big smile}

SU has a great MDS site. You'll have to check it out: www.mydigitalstudio.net

SU sends out a cute birthday card to all their active demonstrators. The fun part is you get to choose one item for 15% off plus you receive the discount you already receive as a demonstrator so it's a pretty cool gift. I've already pick and received my gift--Thank you SU!

Just a note: If you are currently a demo or just signing up you need to register your birthday with SU in order to receive this wonderful gift!

My Birthday is in ONE week! WOW! I'll have to admit that having a birthday in December kinda sucks ; ). With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas i tend to forget about my birthday (and when you get older you just forget alot of things..) I was quite surprised and excited to receive this card in the mail. Thank you again SU for putting a smile on my face.. : ) : )

Well today is a quick post as the kids and i are in the middle of some fun christmas baking!--wrapping presents and watching some old Christmas Classics. The kids are really getting into the Christmas spirit and counting down the days until Santa arrives. I have 2 more days of work then i'm off for a little break! Yay!

Dance Teacher Thank You Gift Card Holder

Well, that time of year is here.  Our kids school and activities are winding down, and its time to thank those people who have dedicated so much time and effort with our kids.  My next couple of posts will feature the thank you gifts I have been working on for my kids teachers, daycare, and dance teachers.

This thank you gift is for my daughter's dance teachers (jazz, tap and musical theater.........whew!).  What dance teacher doesn't need more music?  I first saw the idea for this dance teacher thank you gift card holder here.  But I wanted to make it my own, so I used My Digital Studio (MDS) to create the image with different sized and colours of circle punches.  Then I used the text box to add the "Thanks.................for teaching me how to get my groove on".  I printed it out onto Whisper White cardstock, and cut it out with the 3" Originals Circle die and backed it onto Melon Mambo cardstock cut with the Scallop Circles #2 Bigz die.  Then I popped it out onto Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside of the card hold an iTunes gift card and space for my daughter to add her own handwritten thank you.

MDS Father's Day Chocolate Bar

I created this Father's Day Chocolate Bar for my hubby.  My kids thought this was the BEST thing EVER!  Shhhh!  Now we have to keep it a secret until Father's Day.   I got my inspiration for this project from here.  But I wanted to create my own version, and My Digital Studio was the perfect way to do it!  This program is the the BEST.  I love it for printing custom projects like this.

I used Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Ridinghood Red, Early Espresso and Whisper White for my colour theme.  The stamps are from the Extreme Elements, Certified, and Sporting stamp sets.  I printed it onto a regular sheet of printer paper and secured it at the back with Multipurpose Glue. Check out the back (it's the best part!).

June already? Can you believe it?!! If you've been a stamper for a while, you know what happens in June. --- We say good-bye to the many wonderful products from the current Stampin' Up!  Catalogue!

Check out which items are retiring!  You'll want to act fast.   Do you want to save on some new products as well..? Natasha and I have a special on until June 6th.  Check out this limited time offer here.

April Showers............Bring May Flowers!

front of card

I created this card for the So Shelli April Showers Bring. . . . Creative Challenge.  I was totally insipred by the challenge, and decided to take a literal take on it........so here is my April Showers . . . . Bring May Flowers card.  I created the outside of the card to be a little gloomy, and the inside of the card to surprise with a huge pop of colour!

inside of card
I designed the card onto a  5 1/4" x  5 1/4" card base.  That way it will fit perfectly into Stampin' Up's Medium Square Envelopes (107289).  The card base is made from Baja Breeze textured cardstock, and I sponged Basic Grey around the edges on the front of the card to make it a little more gloomy.  When scoring the card base, I scored the fold twice approx 1/16" apart to allow for extra room for the bulk of the flowers inside the card.  That way the card will lie flat.   All of the pieces on the front of the card are from the Big Bold Cupcakes Sizzlits 4-Pack dies.

The raindrops are cut from the heart (in Bashful Blue), and cut straight up the center to create two raindrops from each heart.  The cloud is from the cupcake top (Whisper White), and the rays from the sun (Daffodil Delight) are the candles.  The sun is cut out from the 1" circle Punch.
I wanted the front of the card to be a little drab, and gloomy, with the only pop of colour coming from the sun in Daffodil Delight.  I stamped each raindrop with the Sanded Background Stamp, and sponged the edges for more depth.  I sewed them onto the Baja Breeze textured card base, and bent each one out slightly.  I covered up the stitching on the inside of the card with some Bashful Blue cardstock.  The cloud has been run through the paper Crimper.  The sun and cloud have been popped out on Dimensionals.  I created the banner in My Digital Studio (MDS).  This program is the best!!! It really opens up what you can do with not only digital papercrafting, but great for "hybird" projects too, like this one.  It was the perfect way to create a custom saying to go on my card.   The banner was cut out with the banner piece from the Petal Cone Bigz L die after I printed it onto Whisper White cardstock.

inside of card
I sponged some Whisper White cardstock with Bashful Blue ink, and used a piece of cardstock punched out of the Scallop Circle punch as a mask to create the cloud effect.  The flowers are created out of the Blossoms Petal Punch, the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, and the Boho Blossoms Punch.  The stems are cut 3/8" on my Paper Cutter.  The leaves and grass have been cut freehand.  The banner was cut from the Petal Cone Bigz L die, and created in MDS as well.

The daffodil was made with Whisper White and Daffodil Delight (sponged with Pumpkin Pie) cardstock (Blossoms Petal Punch and Boho Blossoms Punch).  The crocus was made from Perfect Plum cardstock (sponged with Whisper White craft ink) (Blossoms Petal Punch).  The hyacinths were cut from Rich Razzleberry and Concord Crush cardstock (Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack), and the Tulips were cut from Daffodil Delight (sponged), Regal Rose (sponged), and Melon Mambo cardstock (Blossoms Petal Punch).

Be Mine, Valentine!

Had to show you this quick and easy valentine that I did for my son on Valentine's Day.  I simply took his picture, and loaded into My Digital Studio software (I love this program!), and added the ribbon, bow, button, and words.  Then I sent the photo off to my local photo store to be developed so that 2 images would fit onto a 4x6 print.  I used an exacto knife to create some slots and slipped in a lollipop.  Voila!  Done.  (How simple is that?  You should have seen his little face as he handed them out to his friends)

Products Used:  MDS (My Digital Studio).
