Stocking Builder Punch Pinwheel Card

Happy New Year!

I'm sad to see 2011 pass by but I'm super excited for 2012....the kids have new challenges to face and well there are always new surprises popping up in the stamping world. The New Year brings NEW stampin' products, projects and ideas.--Yay!! : )

Since the Builder Stocking punch is only available while quantities last i thought I'd show you another cute card using this versatile punch. I created a cute pinwheel card awhile back when the builder stocking punch first came out but never did share it with you all so i thought I'd create another one using some new stampin products that will be available to you very soon!! I used some new accessories from the Occasions mini which goes live January 4th! and I used some DSP and a decorative brad which you can earn for free starting January 24th!

To create the pinwheel i punched out 5 stockings from the Stocking builder punch and Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB Mini). I slightly cut the side of the stockings and stacked them, then punched holes in the top and bottom with the crop-a-dile. To hold the pinwheel together i added a Pool Party flower punched out from the Boho Blossoms Punch and added a cute brad from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack (SAB Mini) for the middle.

I also placed each end of the Naturals Ivory greeting banner in the full heart punch to neatly finish off the ends.

It's not to late to order the stocking punch!! --we haven't be notified that it is sold out yet!! Get it while it lasts! The item number for the punch is #120495 and it is $22.95. You can order it through me, or through my SU! website, HERE.

Tomorrow (January 3rd) is the last day to purchase the Stitched Stockings matching stamp set. Check out page 34 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Clear mount item number is #123784 and is $25.95.
The wood mount item # is 123782 and is $33.95.

Also don't forget to check out the clearance rack for some GREAT deals --up to 80% off... you have until January 5th to purchase these great deals.

2011 - A Year in Review Part I

Happy 2012!

Wow!  Can you believe a whole year has flown by?  I can't.  Looking back on 2011, we thought it would be fun to share some of our most popular and favorite posts with you.  Natasha and I had a blast looking back at this past year's posts, and seeing which ones were the most popular with our readers.  Did you have any favorites?  I'm going to go first, and Natasha's going to share her's with you on our next post.

I'm going to start with my favorite posts of Natasha's.  When we talked on the phone, we agreed to choose a couple of our own favorites, and one of each others, but I just couldn't narrow Natasha's posts down to a single favorite.  Really!  It was so much fun revisiting and going through old posts, that I just HAD to list more than one.  Here are a few of my FAVORITE posts of Natasha's (but I did leave a couple off so she can toot her own horn later):

Gorgeous, gorgeous use of spice cake DSP and the versitile and beautiful French Foliage stamp set.

Great colours, layouts, and AWESOME use of the  Peekaboo Frames die (I had my mind stuck on "Advent Calendars" for this die, and Natasha really used it outside of the box and showed how versatile and useful it is.  These projects put this die onto my "must have" list :)

Grad Owl
I had seen lots of owls out there, but this was the cutest little owl EV-AH! I just fell in love with his little grad cap and diploma.  Loved the pocket to tuck in a little gift too.  I ended up CASE-ing this card off of Natasha.

These little dresses really are "so sweet", and judging by the number of page views and number of pins of this project onto Pinterest, I think that you loved them too!

Okay, on to most popular/favorite posts of mine.   Based on page views, the most popular post posted by me was , this post , of my Paper Flower Bouquet.  Thanks everyone for your lovely comments.

Later in the year, I went on to combine the Paper Flower Bouquet with another bouquet (Paper Orchid Bouquet) and made this Paper Wedding Bouquet:

I'm also thrilled to say that the bouquet was chosen January 1st by SplitCoastStampers in their list of  Favorites: The Best of 2011.  What an honour to be chosen and included amongst such talented artists :)  Whoo hoo!  My humble thanks to the talented and dedicated ladies who volunteer their time to organize and  run the Favorites forum over at SplitCoastStampers.

Looking forward to 2012!

Stitched Stocking Just for Fun Card

Isn't this such cute card using the Stitched Stocking Stamp Set and Stocking Builder punch?? I thought it would be a fun card to create to show you a different way to use this coordinating stamp set and punch!! I just love it!!

Stampin' Up! has recently announced that the stocking punch will NOT carry over into the Idea Book & Catty in July..boo woooo! It's very unusual for SU to come out with a punch and not carry it over so I'm super sad it won't be offered at a later date!! Once the inventory is depleted, it will no longer be available. Get it while it lasts! The item number for the punch is #120495 and it is $22.95. You can order it through me, or through my SU! website, HERE.

The Stitched Stockings matching stamp set can be found on page 34 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Clear mount item number is #123784 and is $25.95.
The wood mount item # is 123782 and is $33.95.

Please contact me asap if you'd like me to add these items or any other items to my order that will be going in tomorrow!! (or order online before January 3rd and have it shipped directly to you!)

Also don't forget to check out the clearance rack for some GREAT deals --up to 80% off... WOW.. I'm still wondering why i didn't purchase more ribbons and accessories on my last clearance rack order!! I'm pretty certain I'll be adding some more good deals on my December 31st order.. ; )

For the ears, muzzle (nose?), and mane i used the pieces from the builder stocking punch. For the horse's eye i used a small pearl and coloured it with a black sharpie pen. I also used my square punch to "fork" the end of the DSP.

Hope you like... : )

Happy Birthday Tether Ball Fans

This was a fun card to create with a fun story to go along! : )

November was sure a busy month for birthdays. My son attended 4 birthday parties last month!!

I'm always stumped for card ideas when it comes to guys and kids---mainly boys!! .... i find it more difficult to come up with "male" cards.

As Ethan brought home each invite i thought to myself, oh no..what am i going to create? .....what are these boys interests!!?? After putting some serious thought into it a wave of excitement came over me!!--Have you ever had a brilliant idea and you're super excited to share it with somebody and eagerly look around the room wanting to shout out your brilliant idea in hopes somebody is eagerly awaiting to hear your marvelous idea but then you look over and the only person in the room is your non crafty child engaged in a video game??!! ...i paused for a moment and then blurted out --ETHAN!!! I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!-- he's like ..."what mom!" (in a low tone, like don't bother me i'm in the middle of a GREAT VIDEO GAME) -- i said what if i make tether ball cards for your buddies at school? What do you think? Is that a cool idea?

Last year the cool thing to do at recess and lunch was to play beyblades and this year the cool thing to do is play tether ball. There are a few tether ball poles set up at the school and this year ethan is heavily involved at being the master of the tether ball match even if it means coming home with bruised writs, arms and muddy pants--and no teeth! All the kids in his class love the game or maybe it's the challenge of beating the other in a match!! He kept saying how he wished he had a tether ball at home!! (we have a small yard) I said sure we can get you a tether ball. All we need to do is buy the ball and then we can take it up to the school and hook it up whenever we want!! simple!! Wellll.... that seams simple in a womans mind but what i didn't realize was the inconvenience of it all!! ... having to go all the way to the school to play!!?? the school is soooooooooooooo far away! (5 mins..lol) so my husband's brilliant idea was to stick a nail in the tree outside our front yard!! NICE!

Here's Ehtan and his cousin tearing up the grass...oh dear, hubby is having second thoughts of his brillant nail in the tree idea.. : )

Ethan thought it was a pretty cool idea to make tether ball cards and since the only sports cards i've ever made are soccer, baseball and hockey for his friends it made for something different. But like any other card i make for his buddies there were specific requests for each tether ball card. Since they all owned their own tether balls i had to make sure the colour of the ball was the same as the one they owned. So off i went to create!

Ethan was happy with the out come of the cards but mentioned that one of the tether balls was suppose to be black and yellow...-- and asked why there was hopscotch in the background? "mom we don't play hopscotch!?" -- WOW.. seriously...? I should of took better notes when he was putting in his order..!! My response was -i was just trying to add a little something to the card... : ) : ) : )
